Poland proposes extending KSeF penalty relief until 31 December 2027, giving businesses more time to refine their invoicing processes.
Poland’s Ministry of Finance has announced plans to extend the deferral of penalties for errors in using the National e-Invoicing System (KSeF) through the end of 2027.
What has been announced?
The Council of Ministers adopted a draft bill supporting the extension, according to the Ministry’s announcement of 20 October 2026. The extension requires legislative amendments and should not be treated as an enacted change solely on the basis of this announcement.
What does this mean for your business?
- The implementation timetable continues. Most businesses within scope are already covered by the February and April 2026 rollout phases.
- The smallest businesses have a later transition. Those benefiting from the temporary exemption are scheduled to join from 1 January 2027, subject to applicable rules.
- The proposed extension provides preparation time. If enacted, it would give businesses additional time to improve invoice accuracy, system integration and operational processes.
Existing KSeF obligations remain applicable
The proposed penalty deferral does not postpone the obligation to use KSeF. Businesses should continue meeting the requirements that apply to them while monitoring the legislative process.
Practical priorities for finance and IT teams
For finance and IT teams, this is an opportunity to strengthen validation, resolve integration issues and build reliable invoicing workflows.
- Review invoice data and validation controls.
- Test ERP integration and document exchange.
- Monitor invoice processing and resolve errors promptly.
- Align operational procedures across finance and IT.
